Inversions Workshop

Explore. Be curious.

Have fun during this 2 hour workshop that will lead us up to and through some invigorating inversions - both active and passive. Learn the benefits of practicing inversions, as well as the risks - and learn how to safely incorporate them into your practice.

This workshop will take place in our “warm” studio; and we will also be heating up our bodies through mindful movement in order to enter every pose safely. Throughout our practice, we will explore different ways to bring our hips above our heart, reverse blood flow to our upper body, and challenge limiting beliefs.

Move and explore poses fully, or in pieces, while understanding the path to go further when it is safe to do so. This is NOT a handstand class, but who knows where the evening might take us.

Come with an open mind, and a willingness to have fun and see things from a different perspective.

The cost for the 2 hours workshop is $45 + GST. Sign up by clicking the button below. Pay via etransfer (or let us know if you require a different payment method) by sending $47.25 to hello@districtyogacollective.ca.

Psoas Release/Yoga Nidra

The psoas muscle is one of the largest muscles in the body, connecting the femur to the thoracic spine. It is a sensate muscle that is hard-wired into our fight or flight system and often becomes chronically stressed. The Psoas Release portion of this class will consist of yoga postures design to stretch and tire this muscle, eliciting a release response.

Yoga Nidra is a deep form of guided meditation that takes you through four brainwave levels on a journey towards yogic sleep, which studies have shown translates to 2-3 hours of restful sleep.

Unwind Your Mind, Tie Your Intentions - a workshop of yoga & art

Finding Bliss Creations and District Yoga Collective have teamed up for an evening of Yoga & Art. Manifest your intentions in this workshop through mindful movement and meditation by creating your own personalized mini Mala.

Kelli will start the evening with a meditation to set our intentions.
Kari from FBC will then lead us through the process of creating our own personalized 27-bead Mala. We will learn how to incorporate Mala’s into a meditation practice to quiet a busy mind and stay focused during meditation. The making of a Mala is a meditation practice in itself; with each bead strung, you are manifesting your intention into a physical creation.

Once your Mala is complete, Kelli from DYC will take everyone through a movement class. This all-level flow will incorporate gentle movement through meditation by energizing the body and mind through calm and purposeful breathing and movement.

You will experience:

-A tailored yoga/meditation class - designed for all levels
-Background, history & use of Mala’s
-Gemstone and positive affirmation power & benefits
-Time & assistance in creating your Mala
-Closing meditation to set your intention

Join us:
Friday, October 15th, 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
$60.00 / person + GST

* price includes all the supplies needed to make your Mala- which is yours to keep!
